Eric McMartin, Assistant Superintendent
I was born and raised in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, just east of Eugene. My mother, aunt, and grandmother were all educators and so I have continued the tradition. After graduating high school I attended Lane Community College then transferred to and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Education from Western Oregon University in Monmouth, OR. Upon graduation, I took my initial job search east and received an offer to teach 1st grade in Harrison School District. I spent the first 10 years of my career in HSD2 as a teacher, instructional coach, and district assessment coordinator. Following this tenure in Harrison I spent the next five years as the K-12 Assessment Coordinator in Widefield School District. Immediately prior to being hired in Manitou Springs, I served as the assistant principal of Bricker Elementary, again in HSD2. I earned my Master's Degree from UCCS while training to be an administrator. In my time outside of work I enjoy spending time with my beautiful wife, Melissa, and our two children; Henry (11) and Claire (7) as well as mountain biking, trail running, and skiing. Though I've only been a Mustang a short amount of time, this position feels like home. Thank you to everyone in the school district and community that have welcomed me with open arms.
