REQUIREMENTS:
Paraprofessional experience preferred
Must complete a fingerprint/background screening

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
7.25 hours per day

DUTIES: Support for Moderate Needs Special Education students

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Manitou Springs School Districts seeks two upbeat, hard-working, flexible special education para support staff.

Must demonstrate skills for maintaining the highest levels of professionalism and customer service in a position with varied and changing job assignments. Also, must demonstrate the ability to work in a rigorous, dynamic learning environment while taking direction from teachers and other staff members.

Performs the day-to-day activities of teaching special education students while under the supervision of a teacher. The paraprofessional does not make diagnostic or long-term education decisions regarding  special education students. This includes individuals who may or may not be licensed. Assignments may involve non-traditional learning environments such as building and off-campus work sites.

Supports the principal and classroom teachers in implementing the Special Education programs and encourages a positive and safe learning environment. Assists the licensed special education teachers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, nurses, and other evaluative staff in the implementation of the goals of disabled students.

Grades PreK - 6 Depending on Building
